Now, let me tell you what hydrolyzed collagen is.

Hydrolyzed collagen is a processed collagen, produced by breaking down the collagen found in agro-food waste (bones, tendons, and skin) of animals, like cows, horses, pigs, or fish. [3]

But what is collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. It is a structural protein found in your skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments. [4] Their primary function is to provide structural support to the extracellular space of connective tissues. [5]

There are 28 different types of collagen found in the human body, but there are five types most commonly used in supplements. These are: Type I, Type II and Type III. [6]
